TOUR OVERVIEW
Early in the morning, we will come to pick you up and drive you to the Port. We will have your check-in and boarding cards arranged. Also, receive our customized Take-away guide with a map of Symi town, directions, and interesting information about must-see sites. And off you go!
The day starts with approx. 1.5 hrs travel along the northwest coast of Rhodes Island. Symi is situated 41 kilometers (25 miles) from Rhodes. Enjoy your time on one of the three decks of the Nikolaos X Ferry Boat. There is a great choice of seats on the sun-deck or under a cover as well as inside areas. The boat’s facilities also include a snack bar and WC.
The first stop is the little scenic bay, home to the Holy Monastery of Archangel Michael of PANORMITIS. As you approach the Monastery, you will hear Church bells ringing, warmly welcoming all the pilgrims, explorers, holidaymakers & curious travelers.
The Holy Monastery is a treasury of the Greek-Orthodox culture. The contemporary church was built in 1783 and hosts the miraculous all silver-plated icon of Archangel Michael. The main architectural feature of the Monastery is the impressive bell tower, a mixture of Baroque and Renaissance styles.
The monastery also houses two museums with a large collection of ecclesiastical art, icons, ship model offerings, and important objects of the island’s folk culture. Admire the 18th c. wall paintings, light a candle for good luck and walk around to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this holy place.
To continue with the trip, you will head north along the island’s East coastline. It is a 45 min relaxing journey observing the wild & rocky shore! On the way, the Ferry will slowly pass by the picturesque bay of St. George for panoramic photos.
Every SATURDAY there is an extra stop for a quick 20-minute swim at the nearby Nymporio Bay (from mid-June to end-September).
Upon arrival to Symi Town, everyone is excited to capture their first impression! You are greeted with beautiful colorful mansions, authentic fishermen boats, private yachts & sailboats, dozens of restaurants & folk and art shops, stalls with sponges & wooden carvings! You will have 3.5 hours of free time to dive into this beauty!
Feel the authentic atmosphere, have a casual walk through the port, take hundreds of unforgettable photos, get acquainted with the sponge diving tradition, go for a swim to the nearby Nos beach, or enjoy a nice meal in one of the many water-front taverns!
No doubt, Symi will leave a mark on your traveler’s experience!
At the end of your day, you will be pleased to find your Manosgoing driver waiting for you to take you back to your hotel in no time!

RequestAn excellent service with clean, air conditioned transports. The drivers were excellent and helpful and the days both went exactly as detailed in the brochure. I recommend them without reservation for trips where they just provide the transport. One thing to note is that our buses were very busy and seating is not allocated by ticket. This might worry some people but didn’t affect us on this occasion.
ThomasP6428Booked a day trip to symi for myself, got very clear instructions in an email on where the bus would pick me up outside the hotel to go to the boat. The driver was very friendly and punctual, good AC on the bus and we got there in time. The boat trip itself was good, very sunny so bring something to cover up with (but a hat will blow off). Boat trip over all took about 90 minutes, one stop at the panormitis monastery which I personally thought was too long (about an hour) and super warm. When going inside the church you get sarongs to cover up. Symi was really beautiful to wander around, many tourist shops and a beach (5 euros for a sunbed and 50 cents for a shower) and beware that even if it’s the same degrees as in Rhodes it’s way hotter in symi and...
Stoelen zitten comfortabel. Personeel aan boord geeft duidelijk uitleg. Over de veiligheid in meerdere talen. En toeristische dingen en vertrektijden info Grieks en Engels. Vertrekken fijn optijd. Goed verzorgde dag. Eerste stop was bij klooster, genoeg vrije tijd daar. 2e stop in Symistad.

SakigrTrips with ManosGoing are the way to spend your vacation time. Staff at ManosGoing is always friendly, kind and professional. ManosGoing always stays with you in touch and makes sure you know how to get to the meeting point for your trips. The busses are always on time which is nice to experience for a change. I travel a lot and I find myself in situations where busses are running late…Nobody wants to wait long while being on holidays… I booked two trips with ManosGoing and I was extremely pleased with them. The tour guide, Maria, was such a great person, kind and caring. I did not have change on me as I usually pay with a debit or a credit card, but there were places such as butterfly valley where only accepted cash. Maria was nice enough to lend some money to me to still be able to take...
Aggi_K_RFirst of all I would like to point out the exceprional services that Manosgoing offers as well as the professional yet personalised approach of Manos and Gunta. I was picked up on time from my hotel with a luxurious black van and was dropped in front of the cruise boat that took me to Symi. The staff on the boat was very welcoming and polite and the captain throughout the journey was providing helpful and interesting info of the surrounding islnad and our destination. The initial stop at the bay of Panormitis was a lifetime experince to me and as we enter the bay you immediately feel the energy of that place which is indeed confirmed when you enter the church of the Monastery and you face the immense icon of St. Michael the Archangel that commands your attention. This was a thrilling experience to me and I urge you...
YannisS47Good quality on the (midi) bus used to transfer from hotel to the boat and back, bus came in time (six minutes early). The boat did also seem good. Would not hesitate to book another trip with this company (Manos going)
Tore1972We travelled with Manos Going from Rhodes to Symi (which was stunning and so worth the visit.) The trip was very well organised and we loved it. Manos (himself) collected us from our hotel and saved us a walk up the hill to the pick up point… Thanks so much. Would highly recommend both the trip and this company!
