Guided Group tour to the TOP 3 Highlights of Rhodes Island: Kallithea Complex + Valley of 7 Springs + Ancient Ialyssos – Filerimos
This Full Day guided tour will get you to the three places on Rhodes Island you need to see! Discover Kallithea Springs (Terme) Complex – an ancient retreat known for its healing waters, nowadays a stunning site with charming seaside gardens and impressive architectural works from 1929 of the Italian architect Pietro Lombardi. Explore the Valley of 7 Springs (Epta Piges) – a small oasis where you can learn about Mediterranean flora, enjoy the lovely climate and have a nice rest in the open-air cafe-restaurant overlooking the springs, or get adventurous and walk through a unique narrow tunnel to reach an artificial lake with impressive dam & a waterfall. Then weave through the verdant countryside all the way up the Mt. Filerimos to visit the most ancient well-defined settlement on the island dating back 1550-1400 BC – the ancient city-state Ialyssos. Wander along the old stone path towards an imposing cross, take in the scenic view of the West coast, capture a photo of peacocks or visit the ancient site and the medieval monastery.
On this tour, we aim to show you the best Highlights of our amazing island. Welcome to embark on our Full-day best-selling tour with knowledgeable local tour guides. Our groups are medium size so that you have a pleasant experience touring around in our comfortable, air-conditioned Manos signature bus. The day will be filled with scenic views, cultural heritage sites, history, stories & legends, and wonderful nature walks!
The tour will start with a nice scenic drive along the East Coast of Rhodes Island, passing through Kallithea and Faliraki resorts, known as Rhodes’ Riviera. And here we are, our first stop will be at KALLITHEA COMPLEX – a real jewel, filled with romantic sculptures, fountains, flower-filled yards pawed with black and white pebbles.
This picturesque place has been made world-famous by films such as „Guns of Navarone” and “Escape to Athena”! Amaze yourself with the landscape, learn about its tremendous history and reconstruction, hear stories about the SPA and its springs & baths. You will also have free time to discover the exhibition in the „Big Rotunda”, the little fountain with the „Eros” statue, check out the beach and soak up the atmosphere!
After, it is time to head to our second site on our TOP 3 list— 7 Springs Valley (Epta Piges). A visit to one of the Island’s sites protected by Natura 2000 is going to be a wonderful experience. It will surprise you with lush greenery, fresh running water from the famous 7 springs, a unique water supply construction dating back to the Italian dictatorship.
Adventurous explorers will have an opportunity to walk through a narrow tunnel leading to an artificial lake with an impressive dam & a waterfall. During your visit, you can also have a nice rest in the charming open-air cafe-restaurant overlooking the Springs.
Then meet your guide again to get on board for the third part of the tour! We will hit the road through the beautiful Rhodes countryside, and to impress you, we will make a quick stop in Eleousa village. The tour would be incomplete without a photo of the unique sanatorium fountain!
Then we will drive all the way up to the spectacular Filerimos mountain to explore the ancient Doric city of IALYSSOS – considered the oldest of the three ancient city-states in Rhodes.
You will be welcomed by many peacocks naturally residing in the area. After a guided tour, take your time to wander along the old stone path towards the imposing cross, enjoy the scenic view of the West coast, capture a photo of peacocks or visit the medieval monastery.
Do not be surprised if our guide will try to convince you to taste a specific liqueur made of seven locally-found herbs which recipe comes from Capuchin monks and is still kept in secret.
We are sure that this tour can be the HIGHLIGHT of your Holiday in Rhodes!

We were on this trip today and it was so good! The tour guide marieanna was so nice and extremely knowledgeable on the sights and Rhodes itself. The bus driver yanis was very nice, polite, and chatty, we visited the Kalithea springs first and it was truly beautiful, lovely sight with an interesting history, somewhere I probably wouldn’t have chosen to go , but glad it was included as it was very pretty architecture and interesting history. Second stop was the valley of the butterflies, This was our main reason for the trip and it did not disappoint, the butterflies were beautiful, the valley was very busy, we didn’t make it to the top, but probably about 2/3rds up. Was just amazing to see. Final stop Was mount Filermos, again stunning views from the cross and the side of the mountain, and the peacocks were beautiful and not aggressive! Loved...Kgf1990

This tour was the best day of our holiday! Everything about it was fantastic. We were very fortunate in that the bus picked us up outside our hotel (we were staying in Sunwing Kallithea), and were warmly welcomed by both the tour guide, and the bus driver. Throughout the entire day, the amazing tour guide lady provided us with lots of amazing information and knowledge of the local area, and the different areas that we were visiting. She was incredibly friendly, and provided honest advise about each sight we visited, for example, she suggested at the butterfly valley to complete the upper valley rather than the lower valley as we were able to see more, and she was correct. All three sights were worth the visit. We had to pay entry for the kallithea springs (2 euros), and the butterfly valley (5 euros), totalling only 7 euros which was fantastic....jll3555
The tour started with a prompt pick up, we were greeted with a friendly smile by Mariana our tour guide. Between destinations she gave us an insightful talk of the highlights of this beautiful island where we learnt more about the history of the places we would visit. Entry to each place was very reasonable coating approx €15-20 per couple for the three stops, and we were able to enjoy each stop with ample time. Our driver Yanis was very pleasant and provided a safe and comfortable journey. Lovely people, fabulous sites to experience. Full of information, history and heart from a true gem of an island. We would recommend and join one of these tours again. Thanks for a wonderful experience! Kirsty & DanielKirsty W
Many thanks to Marianne and the Bus driverStefanie Messerschmidt
Anni Puschner
