Next, drive along the fortification walls of the MEDIEVAL TOWN and receive an informative synopsis of this awe-inspiring World Heritage Monument recognized by UNESCO for its 2.500-year-old history. Enter the Medieval town through the grand D’Amboise Gate, one of its most spectacular entrances.

Gain insight into the meticulous planning and construction of the fortifications by the Knights of St. John. Learn about the significance of coats of arms, and pass by key administrative buildings such as the Knights’ Headquarters, the Hospital, and the Commercial Court. Our tour will continue along the East Coast of Rhodes Island, taking us to the beautiful and highly sought-after destination of Lindos Village. Here, you’ll be able to explore the charming white-washed village, the Acropolis, and the stunning bays. We’ll share some interesting facts and stories about the area’s rich history and traditions.

We will enter the intricate settlement, and your tour guide will assist you in getting your bearings and offer suggestions. Then, you can explore this charming village at your leisure, from the quaint streets adorned with Cycladic-style architecture to the historical ACROPOLIS of Lindos.

You can spot numerous chic cafes and restaurants with rooftop gardens in the village. Additionally, quaint boutiques and gift shops sell local handicrafts and produce. You can find a small keepsake or enjoy a delicious lunch at these establishments.

ITINERARY

• Panoramic Rhodes City Tour – 30 min

– Drive through Rhodes City, highlighting the most important landmarks, including the statue of the ancient hero Diagoras, the Town Hall, the central Church – Evangelismos, the site of the ancient Colossus, the ancient Mandraki Port, the New Market, the Northenmostpoint of Rhodes Island.

– Pass by the Acropolis of Rhodes and learn about the ancient city of Rhodes while observing the Panoramic views

– Stop for photos at the Rhodes Panoramic view point

• Guided tour with free time in Rhodes Medieval Town – 1.5 hours

LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY – 2 (Easy/ Moderate)

Walking not more than 20 minutes, all the sites include some uneven surfaces and some standing.

Guests must be able to step in and out of the tour vehicle (our coaches are equipped with a power step). Travelers must be able to walk over paved or cobblestone surfaces.

Lindos village includes inclines, narrow walkways, and cobbled streets. The Acropolis of Lindos (optional visit) has approx 300 steps and a long flight of stairs to reach the castle, which does not have a handrail.

In Lindos village, for senior guests & guests with special needs, there is a possibility to get on a public shuttle bus to the main square of Lindos. (extra cost of 0.5 Eur per person/one way).

DISCOUNTS

Infants under 2 years may join the tour free of charge, and please note that no car seat is provided. Infants must be seated on the parent’s lap. Children under 10 years have a 50% discount.

EXTRA EXPENSES

Entrance admission tickets to the sites are not included in the tour price.

Entry ticket to Kallithea Springs – 3 EUR p.p. Children under 12 years – 1.5 EUR.

Acropolis of Lindos – 12 EUR p.p. Children under 18 years – free. EU Students & Seniors – 50% discount. A visit to the Acropolis is optional.

An opportunity for a light lunch/ snacks/ refreshments can be found in Kallithea and Lindos villages. Typically, sandwiches/ pitta wraps are approx. 3 EUR, 5-10 EUR salads, meal 7-25 EUR.

All sites have access to public WC. Usually, the cost is 0.5 EUR. Have a few coins with you!

CLOTHING

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and sensible walking shoes. In spring (April-May) and autumn (October-November), take a light jacket as it can be windy. During summer (June-September), do not forget your hat, light wrapping, and sunglasses. Always wear your sunscreen and have a bottle of water with you!
