OVERVIEW

Join this tour to get a comprehensive introduction to Rhodes Island and visit the most scenic parts of the East Coast. Begin your day delving into history while enjoying a Panoramic tour of Rhodes City. It is a great chance to easily access all the city’s highlights and observe the major landmarks with professional commentary from a local guide. Our groups are medium size, so you have a pleasant experience touring in our comfortable, air-conditioned Manos signature bus.

During the PANORAMIC CITY TOUR, you will observe all the city’s major administrative buildings, like the Town Hall, the Court building, Prefecture Offices, Central Post, National Theatre, and the Main Church. Most of the buildings are works created by Florestano di Fausto during the Italian dictatorship combining architectural styles and elements of Byzantine, Venetian, Renaissance, Ottoman, and local Greek culture. Then, take a photo of the site that Rhodes is best known for – the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and pass by the Acropolis of Rhodes, learning about the ancient Academy, theatre, gymnasium, Olympic games, and deities. 

Then, pass by the fortification walls of MEDIEVAL TOWN and get a brief introduction to this impressive World Heritage Monument of UNESCO with 2.500 years of history. Even from afar, one can see a unique amalgam of Byzantine, Gothic, and Ottoman monuments, with the massive Palace of the Grand Master crowning the fortified city.

The tour will continue with a nice scenic drive along the East Coast of Rhodes Island, passing through Kallithea and Faliraki resorts, known as Rhodes’ Riviera. Arrive at KALLITHEA SPRINGS – a real jewel filled with romantic sculptures, fountains, and flower-filled yards pawed with black and white pebbles. This closed, rocky cove attracts thousands of visitors from around the world.

This picturesque place has been made world-famous by films such as „Guns of Navarone” and “Escape to Athena”! Amaze yourself with the landscape, learn about its tremendous history and reconstruction, and hear stories about the SPA and its springs & baths.

You will also have free time to see the exhibition in the „Big Rotunda,” find the little fountain with the „Eros” statue, check out the beach, smell lavenders in the garden, and take memorable photos with the turquoise bay as your backdrop!

We are ready to continue driving south, taking you to the island’s most scenic and popular attraction – LINDOS VILLAGE, home to the whitewashed settlement, the Acropolis, and alluring bays. After learning all about the history and traditions on the way, we will first stop at the top of the hill with a panoramic view of Lindos to take the must-have photo, which is not to be missed!

Then we’ll make our way into the labyrinthine settlement, where your tour guide will orientate you and provide some recommendations. Afterward, you’ll be free to experience more of this cozy village on your own, from the narrow streets with Cycladic-style architecture to the archaeological site of the ACROPOLIS of Lindos.

The village is also dotted with many stylish cafes, restaurants with roof gardens, traditional boutiques, and gift shops with local produce & handicraft where you can find a small souvenir or grab a bite for lunch.

Packed with beautiful memories and countless vivid photos, regroup at the Bus Parking area to make your way back to the hotel/ Cruise Ship. We are sure this tour can be the HIGHLIGHT of your Holiday in Rhodes!

– Be introduced to the major monument of the Island – Rhodes Medieval Town, a World Heritage Monument of UNESCO with 2.500 years of history while you drive by its extensive fortification walls

LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY – 2 (Easy/ Moderate)

Walking not more than 20 minutes, all the sites include some uneven surfaces and some standing.

Guests must be able to step in and out of the tour vehicle (our coaches are equipped with a power step). Travelers must be able to walk over paved or cobblestone surfaces.

Lindos village includes inclines, narrow walkways, and cobbled streets. The Acropolis of Lindos (optional visit) has approx 300 steps and a long flight of stairs to reach the castle, which does not have a handrail.

In Lindos village, for senior guests & guests with special needs, there is a possibility to get on a public shuttle bus to the main square of Lindos. (extra cost of 0.5 Eur per person/one way).

DISCOUNTS

Infants under 2 years may join the tour free of charge, and please note that no car seat is provided. Infants must be seated on the parent’s lap. Children under 10 years have a 50% discount.

Entrance admission tickets to the sites are not included in the tour price.

Entry ticket to Kallithea Springs – 3 EUR p.p. Children under 12 years – 1.5 EUR.

Acropolis of Lindos – 12 EUR p.p. Children under 18 years – free. EU Students & Seniors – 50% discount. A visit to the Acropolis is optional.

An opportunity for a light lunch/ snacks/ refreshments can be found in Kallithea and Lindos village. Typically, sandwiches/ pitta wraps are approx. 3 EUR, 5-10 EUR salads, meal 7-25 EUR.

All sites have access to public WC. Usually, the cost is 0.5 EUR. Have a few coins with you!

CLOTHING

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and sensible walking shoes. In spring (April-May) and autumn (October-November), take a light jacket as it can be windy. During summer (June-September), do not forget your hat, light wrapping, and sunglasses. Always wear your sunscreen and have a bottle of water with you!
